sketch and draw sketch

considering the fact that my laptop is currently down, my computer access is limited to a samsung galaxy mini.
Not much, but it'll have to do for now.

first sketch included, made with a smarphone pen I made myself with a broken pen, some electrical wire I salvaged from a broken headset, and some swabs, so basically for free.

DC power jack on laptop broke... :s

the power supply on my laptop has been unstable for a while, and yesterday, after taking out the plug... well, the attached images speak for themselves.
The pin just came right out, so I guess I need to take this thing to the store.
This means no more renders for a while, I'm afraid...
Does anyone know any good pixel art programs for android by any chance?

Latest project (screen capture wip)

I decided to film the progress of this latest project using camstudio.

Stage 1:
Stage 2:
Still far from done, still a lot of fun to be had.

What seems to be my most popular work so far

For today's first post, I'll just share one of my old works.
What's kinda nice about this work is that it's the first image result you get when looking up the term "gleaming armor" in google.

I recently added a link to this blog on the image itself too.

Created another sculptris sculpt.

I still haven't mastered this program in full yet, but I'll get there eventually.
Seems my gimp editing for this one was a bit lacking.

Some of my more organic artwork

I know it hasn't even been an hour since my last post, but don't worry.
I'm already running out of "presentable" concept art. :D

This post concerns artwork with a slightly more organic touch to it.
For instance, I 3D painted this guy here with sculptris this weekend.
Had fun doing it too.

I went for a demonic beetle vibe with some samurai mixed in for good measure.
Here's a full body shot thrown in for good measure.
I'm aware that the stuff below the abdomen wasn't really up to par with the rest of the scene, but the program suddenly decided it didn't really feel like working with me anymore.
Must've hit some sort of polygon limit?
I think it didn't turn out too bad for a first experiment.

I also drew some stuff with a combination of alchemy and thegimp
Take this obviously resident evil inspired fellow.
I think I overdid it with the cartoony elements here, though.

This guy here is either a bug or a feature.
I leave that up to you guys to decide, but it was my first semi-serious attempt at doing something useful with alchemy.

The next two are made completely in thegimp

This is just a random design element, but I thought it was semi-cool enough to show you guys.

I basically drew this, then added a few fillers for cooler effects.
Meet the bugman!

That's all for the mutants and organic stuff for now, guys.
But with my discovery of sculptris, expect more from this department in the nearby future.

Some of my other artwork

As you may have noticed already, I tend to overspecialize in scifi and mecha art.

Here are a few of my slightly older, other works.

In this work, I wanted to create a mix of mechanical work, with a cold touch, but still include a bit of feminine beauty.
I kinda like the results, but I'm pretty sure I still could've added more to it.
There's a chance I'll remake it sometime in the future.

This one is a remake of one of my even older works.
I wanted to create an image of a rediculous confrontation, therefore I devised a scene of a massive djinni inspired robotic being being confronted by a tiny warrior with a bucket for a helmet, a wooden sword and a deformed wooden shield.
Even now I still see the humor in this work.

This is a slightly more static image of a parked mecha at a military base doing... Basically nothing.

A small concept image of what is to be be a massive construction unit.
Had fun drawing this one too.

Well, guys, that's all for now.
Next post will be about bugs and mutants and the like.

Sculptris, like painting in 3D

Since this weekend, I've discovered a new program named "sculptris".
It's by the same guys who made Zbrush, and it just happens to be completely free.

I'm still far from mastering this tool, but here's a short render I colored in thegimp.
As you can see, the general quality of my results with this program still leaves a lot to be desired, but so far working with it has been fun, so expect a lot more where this came from.
Hi,

It took me a while, but I finally decided to give this "blog" thing a shot.

I consider myself a bit of a digital artist, and I'm interested in game design.
I'll use this blog to keep you guys posted about my works and progress.

Let's make this interesting!

To start off, here's one of my works that's also on my newgrounds account.
